Common Questions

How do I sync my reading data across devices?

Enable iCloud sync in Settings → iCloud. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID on all devices.

Can I play ambient sounds while reading?

Yes. Choose a sound before or during a session: Light Rain and Ocean Waves are free, and the other eight come with ToRead Plus. Before you start, tap any sound to hear a short preview.

Can I track multiple books at the same time?

ToRead focuses on your reading time, not individual books. Each session captures your reading duration, and you can optionally add notes about what you're reading.

How do reminders work?

You can set a daily reminder time in Settings. ToRead will send a gentle notification to encourage you to read—no pressure, just a friendly nudge.

What is ToRead Plus?

From version 1.1, ToRead Plus is an optional one-time purchase. It adds your reading time on the Lock Screen, the weekly widget for the Home and Lock Screen, every ambient sound, and each new sound pack as it arrives. The timer, history, reflection, books, iCloud sync and export stay free. It's how you can support ToRead, which has no ads and no subscriptions.

I used ToRead before Plus existed. Do I need to buy it?

No. If you first installed ToRead before version 1.1, everything it had then stays yours, with nothing to do. Plus is optional for you: it adds future sound packs and helps keep ToRead going.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Open Settings → ToRead Plus and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it with.
